Myself and my family came for Sunday dinner today. The food was good but I have to say the level of service we received wasn’t great. We had to ask for our order to be taken. We were well ahead of some people and they were served ahead of us. When we were finished our dinner, we waited some time but had to go and ask for the dessert menu. No one bothered to come down and take our dessert order. Our table was still not cleared from dinner. We ended up just paying and leaving.

Local pub, friendly and helpful staff. Good food at reasonable prices. Great table quiz on Monday nights and Wednesday night Texas Hold em.
Called in recently to try their tapas(wide range) but on seeing the specials went for Hake and Monkfish which were delicious. Have to go back now for Tapas.

I came to The Cove for Sunday dinner. I’ve been to The Cove on a number of occasions and I always enjoy the food and service provided. However, on Sunday 22nd March, I was appalled at the level of service I experienced and received. I was left sitting for 20 mins before my order was taken despite the fact the place was not busy. I heard a man say he was thinking of walking out of the bar rather than waiting. I saw a table of 4 left sitting with menus for half an hour until they shouted at the bar man to ask to be served. The majority of staff were missing from the floor. When we were served, the wrong dish was brought out to me and it took a further 10 minutes for the correct dish to be brought to me. I saw this happen to another table too. We were left with our finished plates and glasses for 15 minutes before the table was cleaned up and staff appeared to be mindlessly walking around and talking to each other. there was one female member of staff on the floor who was constantly working but other than that everyone was very slow. I would be hesitant to return to The Cove in the future if this is the level of service that can be expected.
